More support for Kennedy Seniors!
The Liberal National Government has committed half a billion dollars to aged care funding to help support Senior Australians living in Kennedy, including the release of 10,000 high-level home care packages.
“When I speak to Aussies from all around North Queensland and the regions many have the preference to receive support in their own home, allowing them to maintain their independence,” Senator Macdonald said.
This half billion-dollar investment includes the Viability Supplement for eligible residential aged care providers, to be increased by 30 per cent, through an investment of $101.9 million.
“These rural and regional providers face unique circumstances and that is why the Liberal National Government in working to ensure their sustainability.”
In total, the Residential aged care services receiving the viability supplement in the electorate of Kennedy will see an increase of $1,311,062 given to providers to help ensure their sustainability.
“The Liberal National Government has listened to the community and we will continue to listen and improve aged care, so they can receive the care they deserve,” Senator Macdonald said.
The Coalition Government has invested an extra $1 billion a year in aged care services since 2013 and have furthered that investment in the 2018 – 19 Budget with a further $5 billion boost over the next four years.
Senator Macdonald said that while Labor was throwing stones the Coalition was getting on with the job of making sure that Aged Care reform will continue, so to best support Senior Australians.
