I am very pleased for the people of the Kennedy electorate that Noeline Ikin has been endorsed by the Liberal National party of Queensland (LNP) to contest that Electorate at the next Federal election due next year.
The announcement by LNP President Bruce McIver confirms what literally thousands of electors in Kennedy have been constantly asking me about over the past 2 years. That is that Noeline Ikin will finish the job she started at the last election
I have worked closely with Noeline for over 10 years now and I know what a capable, caring and intelligent person she is.
And what I know about Noeline is that she is prepared to listen to people, to understand their issues then to work incredibly hard to do something about it.
Should Noeline be elected, as I expect she will, she will be part of a strong and effective team for northern Australia and her passion and commitment will achieve results for Kennedy.
For too long now Kennedy has missed out because it had no MP in government to get things done.
At the last election Noeline received more than 10000 more primary votes than the incumbent member but missed out on sufficient preferences from minor parties.
At the last election the Katter Australia Party (KAP) preferenced Labor and more often than not in Parliament, KAP parliamentarians support Labor.
I know this offends many people who in the past have supported the incumbent but who now feel it’s time for a change for the better.
